We provide a safe and confidential space, and offer sessions online via Zoom or telephone, and face to face. You can find out more here.

How do I make an appointment?

How much does it cost and how do I pay?

Each session costs £60.00

Payment may be made by online banking, cash or cheque.

What is your availability?

My hours are Monday to Friday and are flexible so please feel free to contact me to arrange a mutually convenient time.
I am able to offer evening appointments.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies enormously and depends on what issues you bring, and we will discuss this at your first session.

What about confidentiality?

I take your confidentiality very seriously and as a qualified counsellor and member of the BACP, I am bound by their ethical framework.

General Data Protection Act 2018

This Privacy Policy explains how I, Emma-Jane LaRoche of 141 Counselling, collect, store and share your personal information in line with EU General Data Protection Regulations.

Privacy policy

I am committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. The data that I keep consists of our contract agreement, your initial assessment information and brief process notes that are my clinical reflections of our work and help me keep track of our progress. All individuals are given a unique reference number. All clinical notes are kept separate from individual contact details. I will keep basic records for 7 years in case they are required by a court of law. I will keep notes for 3 months after the end of therapy. Your personal information is stored in my secured locked storage facilities.

Legal exceptions
The information disclosed during the course of counselling is confidential and will not be shared without your explicit consent. However, there are legal exceptions. For example, if you reveal a threat of harm, or there is a threat of harm to self or to others, or if a court order is received and a legal obligation arises.

Right to access.
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, free of charge, in an electronic or paper format. You also have the right to ask me to amend or change any incorrect information about you.

Right to be Forgotten
You have the right to ask me to erase information I hold about you, which I will, save for that which I have a legal obligation to keep, for example for my business tax purposes.

Data Portability
As the client, you have the right to receive the personal information which you previously provided, and also have the right to transfer that information to another party.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018, the data “controller” is Emma-Jane LaRoche –Counsellor MBACP.

SAMARITANS – 24 Hour help

If you need to speak with someone urgently the Samaritans have volunteers available 24 hours a day who are there to talk to you if you are distressed or suicidal. Although not counsellors they are trained to help those who need to speak with someone when life gets difficult.

COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH TEAMS (CMHTs)

Community mental health teams consist of different mental health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers amongst others. This service is available for those individuals with serious mental health conditions i.e. Bi-polar, personality disorders. Referrals to these specialist teams are usually from the GP,s, other mental health professionals and social workers.
