Hello! I’m Emma-Jane LaRoche
BA Hons, MBACP (Accred)
Welcome to my website! Do you feel stuck or trapped and are struggling to find a way out of your situation? Do you notice that the same things keep happening to you time and time again? Perhaps talking to family and friends just isn’t enough. They may have their own agendas or perhaps you just don’t feel listened to?Noticing patterns of behaviour that may be causing problems is a real strength of mine, and I hope to be able to help you to learn what works for you, and what you can let go of.
My particular areas or expertise include depression, anxiety, grief and loss (including pet loss) relationships, trauma and adults with ADHD.
I am here to hear you, to validate your experiences and allow you the space to be seen.

change is possible
Sometimes we stick with what we know, and it can feel like we’re stuck in a rut. We might desire change but not know how to do it? Working with me can help you to unlock feelings and emotions, and bring more clarity to your thinking.
a safe place to explore
Confidentiality is the cornerstone of a counselling relationship. I am bound by a code of ethics and truly respect your experiences, allowing you to bring anything to the session. A counselling relationship with me will offer a safe and warm space with no judgement.
transform your life
Counselling isn’t just listening, you’ll be given tools and techniques in session to help you grow. You’ll also learn more about yourself, and that increased awareness will help you in all aspects of your life.
About You
Do you feel as if things have just become to much for you to deal with and that you’re finding yourself going around in circles, feeling lost and confused?
Is it time for you to talk with a professional about events in your past which you feel may now be affecting you present life.
Perhaps it’s about improving your communication skills with certain individuals in your life or looking towards improving your career prospects.
Sometimes we come to the point where talking with friends and family just doesn’t seem to help. Talking to someone who is independent of a situation and can listen in a non-judgmental and accepting manner can help to make sense of what may be a stressful, sad or anxious situation.
Therapeutic counselling can provide a space where you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours safely and confidentially can help gain a perspective of the problem and explore ways to move forward in a supportive and caring environment.

- Short term (6 sessions) 37%

You are in control of your therapy sessions. Some clients come for a single session to work through a dilemma, others are keen to have a structured idea of how long things will take.
When we have a conversation, we can discuss how therapy will work for you. You are in charge.
Short term sessions (up to 6 weeks) can be very effective.
